Hennessy X.O Prosperous Garden of HEI CNY Party @ Sentul Depot
Hennessy Malaysia wrapped up Chinese New Year 2022 with the final leg of its after-party, the Prosperous Garden of HEI, at Sentul Depot in Kuala Lumpur. True to its name, the industrial venue was transformed into a garden, filled with greenery and delicate flowers from the décor to the table settings.
Games of Fortune
Instead of cash, guests used custom Hennessy tokens to get canapés, drinks and entry to the games. Tiles of Prosperity challenged you to identify eight mahjong tiles in 30 seconds using only your sense of touch, which is much harder than it sounds. The Pot of Luck was an arcade-style game where you had three tries to match three symbols. Prizes included a bottle of Hennessy X.O and a premium mahjong set.
The Treasure Court
At the heart of the garden was the Treasure Court, where guests could graze on canapés from three KL restaurants: Skillet, Ming Ren Xuan and One Seafood. Having Western, Chinese and seafood kitchens side by side made for a nice mix of bites to pair with cognac.
There was also a fortune-telling booth, the Oracle of Happiness, which fit the CNY spirit perfectly.
The Peony Installation
The showpiece was an interactive installation by Cahaya Create. Mechanical peonies, the flower of wealth and honour in Chinese culture, opened and closed in a slow choreography around a Hennessy bottle, like a toast to the new year. The flowers were made from eco-friendly paper.
About Hennessy X.O
X.O stands for “Extra Old”. Hennessy created the first X.O cognac in 1870, and it is a blend of long-aged eaux-de-vie with rich, spicy and dried-fruit notes. It is best sipped neat or with a single ice cube, and it pairs surprisingly well with rich Chinese dishes.

It was a beautifully styled party that felt like a proper CNY celebration after two quiet years.
